  1. This is great that many groups outside and many women and men inside are involved either as hunger strikers or in supportive actions. Buffalo, NY, has 9 individuals committed to a chain-fast in solidarity with the strikers for as long as the strike continues. We each do one day, and with 2 more people joining we have the flexibility to fill in just in case someone cannot fast. Our groups is diverse, from retired school teachers to old retired ex-cons (but not too old!). With Attica’s 40th anniversary approaching, the actions by Pelican Bay/Corcoran (and other) strikers, creates an historical opportunity to let people know that the bloated and dysfunctional criminal justice system in America is worse than it was back in 1971, not to mention nearly ten (10!) times as large. We hear you in Buffalo, 40 miles from Attica, and we will be standing with you and supporters until your reasonable demands are met.
